Disconnect Low Pressure Inflator

Objective: 
  • To safely and quickly disconnect the BCD hose.
Value: 

Be able to quickly remove a malfunctioning BCD inflator hose to maintain buoyancy.

Steps to Perform: 
  1. Locate your BCD inflator and the attached regulator hose with your left hand, thumb toward the end of the hose [not the BCD]
  2. With your three fingers [not your thumb and first finger] and your palm, grip the hose coming from your regulator [not the corrogated hose leading to the BCD]
  3. With your first finger and thumb grip the flange on the end of the hose where it connects to the BCD inflator mechanism
  4. With your right hand push the inflator mechanism [at the end of the corrogated hose] toward your left hand
  5. With your first finger and thumb pull back on teh flange at the end of the hose and disconnect it from the lower pressure inflator nipple
